Emmaline Julia Edie
I am a soon-to-be full time Teacher. I am also an Artist, Graphic Designer, and Photographer.
I came to teaching through some of the most rewarding work I have done which is as a volunteer arts instructor and event coordinator for Halloween productions in high school. For the past five years, I have managed and instructed student volunteers for these events. I collaborate with the students closely to find tasks and roles that match their unique talents and interests; for example, a student who wants to design theme park architecture was tasked with designing a New Orleans haunted house facade. We worked to make these events interdisciplinary, including art and drama classes making props, woodshop students building sets, and broadcast students documenting the events. I love working with young people to provide them with the space, tools, and inspiration for them to realize their potential.
As passion projects I design beautiful literary zines and photograph nature. I received my BFA in Graphic Design from Columbia College Chicago.
